Norman Pattiz Announced The Results of A Study By Edison Research On The Network’s Brand Lift Studies
The Executive Chairman of the PodcastOne by the name Norman Pattiz and Tom Webster who is the VP of Strategy at Edison Research recently announced the results of advertising tests conducted on five of the top national brands across several services and product categories. The research was carried out in 2016. It showed a positive impact on the brands after the podcast campaign. There were positive results from the podcast advertising campaign on brand recall rates, the intent to buy the brands, and the ability to remember the messages broadcasted during the campaigns.
There was a 60 percent increase in specific messages sent by an automobile products service and a 76 percent rise in message recall for a casual eatery after the campaign. The number of respondents that had ‘very favorable’ opinion of the automobile aftermarket product moved from 18 percent in the pre-study to 33 percent post-study. 22 percent of respondents said they would consider purchasing a garden and lawn product post-study from 16 percent pre-study.
The study also noted a 47 percent increase in unaided product awareness for a financial service product from the pre-study to post-study period. A similar increase of 37 percent was observed in the automobile aftermarket product and 24 percent of the lawn product. The number of listeners that could recall a particular grocery brand increased to 60 percent post-study from 7 percent during pre-study. Podcast one hired Edison Research to conduct three surveys on its behalf in 2016. The studies were to examine the effectiveness of podcast advertising on the five top national brands that had been selected.
The selected brands were a mix of well-known brands that were launching new podcast campaigns and lesser-known brands that sought increased awareness from the campaign. Online surveys were carried on the audience before and after the campaigns were run. Each brand ran similar podcast advertising campaign for four to six weeks using a methodology that was similar to the rest.
